Alexandre Prémat was able to walk away from a huge crash during the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race at Adria in Italy. The Audi -driver clashed with Maro Engel on the first lap, sending him spinning right in to the wall on the main straight. The Audi dug in to the ground and rolled several times, completely destroying the car. Prémat was fortunately able to walk away immediately and was seemingly unhurt. Although the Frenchman has been sent to hospital for further examinations. Audi Motorsport boss Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich commented the incident. “Alexandre Prémat was really fortunate, he is doing well. Initially, we were all shocked. After Tom Kristensen’s accident in 2007, we learned that we first have to wait for all the examinations before we can really say that he is safe. At the end of the day, we can be very proud of our cars and the DTM safety concept,” said Ullrich.
