Audi Clean Diesel – TDI Fuel Economy
April 17, 2009
As the Audi Mileage Marathon from New York to Los Angeles proved, Audi TDI technology offers incredible range and astounding fuel efficiency. For instance, the A3 TDI achieved an incredible 50 MPG; but make no mistake, Audi TDI offers incredible acceleration off the line or in the middle of the power band, not surprising, since the Audi TDI has won The 24 Hours of Le Mans 3 years in a row. Powerful, efficient and clean – That’s Audi TDI Technology. (Source: TDI advertisment)
A3 Clean Diesel – TDI Fuel economy – Average 44 MPG (Miles Per Gallon)
Q7 Clean Diesel – TDI Fuel Economy – Average 27 MPG (Miles Per Gallon)

The Q5 with TDI is the SUV I’ve been waiting for – but now I hear from my local Audi dealer that it’s not coming to the US “in the foreseeable future”. What gives? Do you know anything they don’t know? Is there a letter-writing campaign or petition that I can participate in to encourage Audi to bring this winning combination to the States? Thanks!

I too would be most interested in the Q5 with the 3.0 V6 diesel. The Q7 is too “SUV-like” and too large also out of my price range with the diesel. Let Audi know if they think the Q5 sells well now they certainly would sell more with that wonderful V6 diesel.
