Audi’s website has revealed some details of the upcoming Audi Q5 Hybrid Hybrid , which is expected to debut at the Los Angles Auto Show commencing on November 18. Under the medium-sized SUV, the car features a 2.0-litre TFSI engine – similar to the Volkswagen Golf GTI engine, offering 150kW of power. This engine is then backed up by an electric motor which is capable of contributing an extra 34kW of power and brings the total torque figure up to 480Nm.
This combination will improve the fuel economy, although Audi hasn’t released any official numbers yet, Audi does say the Q5 Hybrid will emit, on average, just 170 grams of CO2 per kilometre. Not bad for a four-wheel drive. Reports say the car will still showcase very reasonable on-road performance as well. Acceleration times of 7.1 seconds for the 0-100km/h sprint can be achieved. The Audi Q5 Hybrid will go on sale some time in 2011. In the meantime, check out the overview video below for a closer look.
