I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who has helped me with my product knowledge and put up with my enthusiasm for the brand and product line up for all these years. I have been part of the Porsche, Audi, Volkswagon family since I got my drivers license at the age of 16 and since then I have been hooked on cars, specifically Audi. After getting my degree in Automotive Science it was in my blood and there was no turning back, I had become a “Car Guy.” My family had to endure all my late nights in the garage wrenching on cars and my wife knew first thing Saturday morning I would be late for breakfast because I was washing my car from the night before and getting it ready for the weekend. Now some years later it seems my love for all things automotive have started to pay off. I have always been a great believer in doing what you love and the success would come with time, and as it turns out that is true. After competing in Seattle for the Regional level of the Audi “Q Factor” walk around competition, I am now advancing to the regional finals in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada on August 18th 2009. My fellow Brand Specialists at have been very helpful with getting me prepared, so thanks Guys! I will keep you updated on the outcome and let you know how things go.

Audi Certified Warranty (CPO) – The Best Extended Warranty!

About a year ago we had the Certified Pre-Owned Walk Around competition put on by Audi to test the knowledge of the Audi Brand Specialists (Audi Sales Team + Portland Audi). This Ceftified Walk Around focused on the Audi backed 6 year, 100,000 mile extended warranty offerd by Audi to ensure the Pre-Owned car you were getting would offer the same experience as getting a new Audi. I have always felt confident when describing the Audi 4 year 50k mile bumper to bumper warranty with the extended 2 years and additional 50K miles of warranty provided by Certification, but after studying for this competition I really started to understand the benefit of this coverage. I recommend also you visist the Audi website and go over the 300 + Point Inspection Checklist that every Audi getting Certified has to go through in order to even be considered , as well as a clear Carfax and up to date service history. Now a year later we have just finished the first level of the 2009 “Audi Q Factor” Walk Around, and this year it also included the all new Audi Q5. For the regional portion I will be representing the 2007 Certified Audi Q7 and all of the benefits of the vehicle in regards to its unique features, design, safety, versatility and performance. Like last year I have found so many amazing features on the Q7 both with the capabilities of the vehicle but also in the overall vehicle appearance and stance. Audi Certified Pre-Owned Walk Around

Monday September 22nd we set out to Seattle for the Regional Semi Finals for the Audi Certified Pre- owned walk around competition. It was a beautiful morning for the 3 hour drive ahead of us from Portland and Sunset Imports had provided the perfect car for the journey.

The sport package equipped Audi A4 Avant was sure footed at highway speeds and felt very connected to the road as we made our way into the heart of Seattle.

After arriving downtown we took some time at pikes street market for a nice walk to stretch our legs and take in some of the sites…

We then enjoyed a cup of coffee at the original Starbucks as I began my mental preparation for the Audi Certified Pre-owned Competition.

As the day came to a close we enjoyed a wonderful meal at our favorite Italian restuarant, Mitchellis. Always delicous food and great service, we find ourselves here for dinner everytime we come to Seattle.

The C.P.O. Semi Finals Walk Around consisted of 3 contestants, each contestant representing the Pre-owned vehicle to a potential client with 3 judges looking on.
The setting was very professional and each of us was very well versed in the Audi brand with a true passion for our product.
I was third to present the vehicle and with butterfly’s in my stomach I began, “Welcome to Sunset Audi”. Before I knew it 15 minutes had passed and I was concluding the demonstration with a hand shake. Though I would not be continuing onto the Las Vegas finals , I left with confidence and knew our certified warranty process was second to none. It was truley an honor to be a part of this exceptional training experience.

Audi Certified Website & 300+ Point Inspection Checklist
Certified Warranty is in a class all it’s own with regards to requirements as well as attention to detail when preparing the vehicle for its new owner. The Audi must meet certain criteria to even apply; such as a clear Carfax report, up to date service history and less then 60,000 miles on the odometer. In addition, the car must be less than five years old.
After the vehicle has been cleared of these requirements, it then undergoes over 300 points of hands on mechanical inspection; the most of any automotive manufacturer. After the 300+ point inspection has been completed by an Audi Certified Technician, all necessary repairs and/or reconditioning needs will be fulfilled. Such requirements are: tires in “like new” condition (including spare) as well as brakes having a minimum of 7mm remaining (50%) on front and rear and the windshield being free of cracks.
When purchasing your new Audi Certified vehicle (C.P.O.) the goal is for the experience to be as close to a new car vehicle purchase as possible, including the availability of very competitive financing programs.
