Since we all love our mobile devices so much these days – or at the very least, can’t live without them, it is only fitting that Audi USA has come out with a quattro app as well! The Audi USA | Audi quattro App allows everyone to share their quattro stories and with so many great stories to share and reasons to love Audi, we expect this will be a great addition to the Audi USA Facebook page! A few months ago we also thought it was a great idea to share stories with us and many of you did – we encourage you to share those stories and any other amazing Audi tales you have on the new app and see how you like it! Let’s face it – we all love to talk about Audi and since we also all love the various social outlets that allow us to do so – this seems like a great match! Enjoy!

We love this fantastic picture! Perhaps that is because we can relate to what this looks like on a pretty much weekly basis here in the Pacific Northwest – but we have to say that if we had these cars waiting outside our door for us, we would brave the rain too and be taking them for a spin!! Anyone else have any rainy day Audi pictures they would care to share?? Have a great day – and enjoy the lack of rain we are having!!

Audi S5 Sportback – Dreaming.

If the sight of this beautifully designed and painfully gorgeous Audi S5 Sportback tearing it up in the snow makes you drool onto your keyboard, and you live the US, drooling is likely all you will get to do – that is unless you travel to Europe to see it for yourself! This amazing and slightly updated machine will not be available in the US but that doesn’t stop us from wanting it even more because of that. The S5′s headlights are sporting a new design and the sleek lines, distinctly Audi, have us considering a trip to Germany really soon! We hope you enjoy and if you happen to be in Germany and capture some pics, send them our way! Have a great Wednesday – and don’t forget to wipe your keyboard.

We love I Love Audi on Facebook!Their about section says “Facebook’s largest Audi Fan Site” – Yeah, by a lot!!! With nearly 100,000 fans, I Love Audi has a huge fan base and we have to say we are very impressed! 2012 Audi: Setting Up WiFi Hotspot

Featured by Inside Line: There is a ton of tech in our Audi A8L — so much that we could blog about its myriad features incessantly (as we have, and will), and so much that we had forgotten to set up the WiFi network. It’s not like Audi is alone in offering an in-car WiFi router, but I love the idea of having this feature in the car, and getting it working was my first order of business. Yet, I’m not sure it’s something I’d use every day. Indeed, the Google Map data that’s part of the WiFi service is cool, but since I’m usually driving, and not sitting in the backseat with an iPad using Facebook, I’m not realizing the full benefits of the WiFi.

Where WiFi really becomes useful, in my opinion, is when you’re out on the road and need a signal strengthener for your smartphone or, more important, when you need to blog and don’t feel like carting your laptop into Starbucks. Audi has chosen T-Mobile (aka, Deutsche Telekom) as its exclusive provider, and despite that company’s so-so coverage in the U.S., it’s still far better than nothing. During the cross-country barbecue adventures of Scott and Scott, their phones were picking up the Audi’s WiFi signal, but they were unable to connect. Upon their return, we realized we had spaced and forgotten to insert the SIM card, which explains this “SIM card no good” display…

Straightening out that issue was as simple as inserting the SIM card in its designated slot under the nav screen. Here you can also see the SD card ports, which are one means of transferring music to the A8′s 20GB hard drive. Although Audi’s MMI system is probably the most straightforward and user-friendly of its kind, the WiFi password (which had already been entered and saved in the car before we got it), is a little bit hidden in the Telephone menu. Here’s the sequence of steps in photos (I shot these in the safety and comfort of the garage, so that’s why the car has no 3G service). Probably the best thing about the process is the breadcrumbing at the top of the display — you never get lost in MMI. Audi provides a free data plan for the first six months. It’s yet to be decided who will pay the bill once that trial period is up.

Hands Off The Driving Experience!

Though we do understand that this latest information coming from Audi AG on the future of Audi being self-driven cars is pretty much where we are headed in close to all aspects of our auto-pilot modern days lives, with our technology advancements seemingly never ending; but the concept of a self driving car does not please us. To the best of our knowledge one of the things we love most about Audi loyalists is that they welcome and love the driving experience! So we do appreciate that this ‘love of driving’ was addressed by Audi AG Chairman, Rupert Stadler in his presentation at the Digital Life Design Conference in Munich, but we can’t help but feel a little sad that even the experience of driving will likely one day be a thing of the past. Audi + Facebook and The S5 SE (Special Edition)

Everyone knows how much we love Facebook , and all the various other social outlets for that matter, but it looks as though the auto industry’s big names are finally catching the value of it as well. Audi, who is ranked among the highest in social influence in their field, has continued using the social tool as a way of sending out information on its latest projects, not previously released. It is a solid strategy we think, and though not the first time Audi has used Facebook as a way of capturing information from its most loyal of followers, this time it involved information pertaining to the model change of the S5 for 2013. The automaker, on Facebook , released a tease stating it would make available a Special Edition V8 S5 this year to ‘loyalists’ of the previous generation model. We love their approach to getting the word out there and have no doubt most everyone who wants to stay in this very fast paced information age will follow suit in getting their latest endeavors out to mass market – pronto! Audi R8 Limo – Not Impressed

Well we can’t say we’re very happy about this latest news piece about our beloved Audi R8. A limo company in the UK has decided to turn the most spectacular of vehicles into a stretched out limo to be used for weddings! While we do have to hand it to them for having some taste in the way of deciding on the R8 to begin with – we feel like alot of that falls to the wayside when it comes to stretching it out into limo form! Now, we may be slightly biased, as our love for limos doesn’t stretch all that far, but does anyone else agree that this is a poor choice for such an amazing car?! Let us know what you think! Audi + Snow!!! “Drifting is Fun”

A snow day is a rare occurrence for us here on the West Coast but last night, and for a couple of days in higher elevations, we have been having just that! We couldn’t be happier about the snowfall and had the opportunity to run around in an eerily empty downtown Portland last making the first tracks in this unfamiliar yet chilly white stuff! We can’t help but think about Audi (not surprising!) when faced this blast of winter – it is so rare the cities in these areas pretty much shut everything down and those who can venture out – should do so in their quattro Audi’s! We can only hope you have as much fun as this guy!! Sadly, pretty much everything that was white has turned to slush in our neck of the woods, but we can’t say we haven’t thought about heading up hill to look for some more! We hope you all having a great few days of snow!!
