Audi A5 DTM to Brighten your Day!

Since those of us in the Portland area need a bit of a pick me up from all the clouds these last few days – and those of you in the middle or Eastern parts of the states probably need a break from the heat – we thought we’d share some exciting news from Audi and some sketches of an A5 that is rumored to be competing in Germany’s DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) race series next year. V10 Audi R8 Crash – We Feel Bad.

Back in December we did a post on two Glut Orange Audi’s which were incredibly rare – and especially rare since they were from the same family! The owners, who we contacted through Facebook were kind enough to share some incredible pictures. One was a V12 Diesel Q7 and one was a V10 R8 and both were very special!! Sadly, the R8 had a crash a short time ago and this is what it looks like now! We are happy to report that no one was hurt – but obviously the R8 sustained some damage. For the original I Am Audi article with the V10 R8 and V12 Diesel Q7 before the accident visit: “ A gluten for Audi ” Have a fantastic Monday!!

Thank you Brian Baldwin of Twenty Forty One for sending us this picture while you were at Squaw Vally Tahoe for a work assignment, must be tough! We wanted to know if anyone has the inside scoop on this matte black Audi R8? It looks to be a supercharged 4.2L V8 with some other Stasis goodies, but we can’t see enough from the pictures to know for sure. If you’re a Nevada Audi Dealer or live in the Reno or Tahoe area and have more information on this car, we would love to hear all about it because quite frankly its sexy!

The Rising Sun Channing Frye – New Audi A8L

Is it a surprise that #8 Channing Frye of the Phoenix Suns just got a new Audi A8L? No surprise to us – he has had his mind on Audi for the last 3 years and it was just a matter of time. We met Channing a few years back when he lived in Portland and played basketball for the Trail Blazers. We told him then that he had to drive the A8L , trying to strip him of the Mercedes S Class he had grown accustomed too. The look on his face was priceless – it was as if we had asked a vegetarian to eat meat. Three years later Channing calls us requesting the new A8! It was a proud moment for us knowing that someone who could have any car they wanted chose Audi. Below are some pictures of his new A8L before we sent it down to Phoenix! We will have Channing’s driving impressions on after he’s had an opportunity to drive his new A8L for a few months. Lastly – great job Channing on your last two game winning shots! Way to go!!!
