Now this is one Audi we really think would do well in the United States, a little smaller then the A7 and a little sportier then the A6 – perfect! When your in Europe and you see the A5, S5 sportback for the first time your really not sure what to think or even what it is. People often think that the A5/S5 sportback is the A7, the headlights are a dead giveaway that its not. Audi plans to have a lot more models available for us State side by 2015, who know maybe this will be one of them.
This weekend we had the task of taking a couple of cars to Salishan Resort for an event that was being held there – we managed to steal away a few minutes to head to the beach to take pictures of the cars we brought and enjoy the afternoon. We were grabbing some things from the back and I had gone back to get my phone and realized how cool this picture was from the Backup Camera!! I think we could start a whole new series of photos just from the view on this camera. We backed the car up in several different locations to capture some different views – but the sun made it a bit difficult to get any real good ones. And since I am not going to complain at all about sunshine on the Oregon Coast – this is the only picture we can share!!! If anyone else has any pics they’ve taken this way – please send them along. We are all about finding new ways to enjoy these fantastic vehicles!!! (Even if they are relatively unconventional!) Happy Monday.
From our friends of Audi Deutschland : “Audi Brussels welcomes its visitors with a special work-A1 graffiti welcome. In case of the European Capital of street art and artistic fictional A1-graphics into a footprint. The production of the A1 in Brussels – leaves traces.” Now that translation may not be perfect but we get the idea. We love the principle and creativity of the street art, now we just wish we could get the Audi A1 State side!
Thank you Brian Baldwin of Twenty Forty One for sending us this picture while you were at Squaw Vally Tahoe for a work assignment, must be tough! We wanted to know if anyone has the inside scoop on this matte black Audi R8? It looks to be a supercharged 4.2L V8 with some other Stasis goodies, but we can’t see enough from the pictures to know for sure. If you’re a Nevada Audi Dealer or live in the Reno or Tahoe area and have more information on this car, we would love to hear all about it because quite frankly its sexy!
2 things 100,000 Audi A1’s already, wow that was quick! Second thank you Fourtitude for this article. AUDI AG has been producing the Audi A1 in Brussels for nearly one year. The 100,000th car has now rolled off the assembly line. To mark the occasion, King Albert II of Belgium visited the site in the Forest district of Brussels. Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, and Gerhard Schneider, General Director for Technology and Logistics and management spokesman of Audi Brussels, led the King through the tradition-steeped plant, which Audi acquired and restructured four years ago. In addition, Benoît Cerexhe, Minister of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region, responsible for the Economy, Employment, Scientific Research and Foreign Trade, officially opened the visitor’s route through the A1 production facility.
“We are very honored that the King of Belgium has taken such a great interest in Audi and that he has visited our plant,” says Rupert Stadler. “The Forest site has been part of the Audi family – and the Company’s success story – for four years now. With the Audi A1, Audi Brussels is making a major contribution to the dynamic growth of our brand.” Take the jump read on!
Doug Clark, General Manager, Social Media & Customer Engagement, Audi of America whom is currently using the Klout application said: “We identified Klout as a skilled partner to help us recognize and identify our Facebook fans with followings and influence, We currently have over 3,500,000 fans on Facebook and we see this as a great tool to help manage and work more directly with our fan base.”
“Today, we’re proud to announce that we’re partnering with Involver to allow brands to provide customized experiences to their Facebook fans based on Klout Scores. Besides the number of fans, brands know surprisingly little about who those people are, their potential reach, and have little ability to message them individually. Now, with this partnership, brands can choose to give different offers, promotions, or messaging to fans based on their Klout. We’re excited to have Audi on board as our first partner on their Audi USA fan page.” said Klout – For of this article take the jump and Read On!
Our friends over at Club Audisport Iberica have been kind enough to send us these amazing photos of this Audi A1 – in nature – and we couldn’t be more thrilled with them! Not only is the vehicle itself fantastic, but the back drop is really unbelievable. We are unable to get the A1 in the US at this time, so we’ll have to let these exclusive pictures hold us over until we are able to get the car here – or until we can travel to these other beautiful parts of the world and see them for ourselves.
Be sure to check out Club Audisport Iberica on Facebook – they are doing some great things on the site and share our passion and enthusiasm for the brand in a big way! We hope you enjoy them and the article they wrote below – and if you have any pictures you want to share, please feel free to send them our way; we would love to see them!
“This Audi A1 is painted in Phantom Black with Ice Silver Metallic roof contrast line and has a set of 17″ x 7.5J ‘5-arm’ design bi-colour alloy wheels. This A1 is fitted with the 1.6 TDI 105 HP engine with a 5 gear manual transmission. It gets an average of 6 liters / 100 km in the city with the start/stop system, and on the highway driving carefully it’s consumption is only 4,5 liters / 100 km.”
“The Audi dealer Superwagen wanted us to test the car in all situations possible, so we decided to drive 1000 km in two days from ’92 olympic city of Barcelona to Zaragoza and go back. We had a great surprise when we left the highway and drove until Mequinenza (See Map) using secondary roads. In that moment we realized how funny and agile is the A1 with that VERY direct direction and sporty suspension. Despite we were not using the most powerful A1 engine, it was very easy to overtake other cars and leave behind curves and more curves without feeling tired of driving. It makes you forget you’re driving a car designed to the city. Two front seats have nothing to envy to the A3 ones.”

Portland Oregon’s Debut 2012 Audi A6 has landed! Now this 2012 Audi A6 is not available for sale yet and as you can see from the pictures, it has not undergone its inspection or even been taken out of transport mode, so can’t be driven at this time. We apologize for the wrapping and shipping material that are still on the vehicle, but we just couldn’t wait to share the new arrival! With so many standard features and available options like the ground breaking Audi Pre-Sence on the new 2012 A6 make sure to do a little research to best utilize all the new technologies of this awesome Audi!!
First off, we just want to say a big Thank You! – we could not have done it without all of your support. Today I Am Audi surpassed 1,000 Likes on its Facebook Page! We are very proud of this accomplishment and want everyone to know how much this means to us – it means the World! We are happy to share this day with all of you and can’t wait to hit the next milestone with all of you!!!
We always hear that European cars have the worst cup holders and we really think that’s a pretty unfair blanket statement, check out these Audi cup holders in the A5. We know this is a pretty soft post but we have a ton of things to get done today and through the weekend so we’re sorry. Anyways, if you love Rockstar energy drinks then be confident they fit perfect in every Audi!
We want to thank the O’Brien Auto Group , in particular the O’Brien Auto Group of Salem and their awesome Facebook kick-start! A few weeks ago a friend suggested we take a look at what O’Brien on Facebook was doing and told us about how we could win an iPad 2 if we liked their page – after checking their content we did. I let my little brother know and of course he told his friends and before you know it O’Brien of Salem had a growth of over 33%! Everyone knows how much we believe in the power of online presence and of course anything to do with the growth of it, so we want to say thank you to O’Brien of Salem for putting your best foot forward right out of the gate – you’re doing great! Lastly, sorry about the grainy pictures – looks like it’s time to get another new iPhone 4!
Seeing that we can’t get the new Audi Allroad in the United States right now – but I don’t think it will be long until we do – an alternative vehicle would be an Off-Road Package Audi Q5. The Audi Q5 looks awesome as it is but when you put the Audi offroad styling package on, it gives the Q5 a more aggressive look. I have not seen a Q5 in the USA with this kit on it yet, only in Europe so if you have any more pictures of the Q5 with the offroad package please share them with us!
With such an incredible team of players at Audi such as Mark Del Rosso, Johan de Nysschen and Scott Keogh it is no wonder that Audi is having the success that it is today. It’s easy to measure the success of Audi if you gauge it solely on car sales, but there is so much more to it than that. Audi has had, what I consider, more profound success in the past six months than in any time in the last decade, and from what I see there is no signs of slowing. As recent as this weekend with the 10th win at Le Mans, with all the cards stacked against Audi, the team managed to pull it together and bring home the win! It seems like everywhere within the company, no matter racing and development, sales and service, or any other facet, brand awareness at an all time high and Audi continues to have a social media reputation that is nearly unmatched. The question is: to who do we owe all this success to? Of course it’s a team effort – but I believe that the culture of Audi has been created by Scott Keogh whose vision and insight into the brand has served Audi so very well. Scott joined Audi the first week of June in 2006 so this year marks his 5th year with the company – Congratulations on 5 years Scott!! We hope to see Audi continue to progress as it has been this last five years and we have no doubt it will with the expertise of such a great group behind it and Scott Keogh as the Chief Marketing Officer producing great opportunities for Audi to grow and thrive in the ever changing world of the automotive industry. Keep up the great work Scott!!!
Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich (Head of Audi Motorsport): “2011 was no doubt the most difficult Le Mans race we’ve ever contested – but in the end with the sweetest result we’ve ever had as well. From such a difficult situation we managed to recover again on our own power and in the end to defeat – albeit with a narrow margin – our really strong competitors from Peugeot. After eight hours we’d lost two of our three cars and knew that it would be extremely difficult with just one car. The entire squad gave everything to do the best for this car. Of course the drivers had to drive it. And they did a really fantastic job – although it was the squad with the least experience at Le Mans. Of course it’s extremely important that Allan (McNish) Allan (McNish) and Mike (Rockenfeller) came out of both accidents, which were really severe, without any injuries.” Thanks Audizine for the video clip!
From Allan McNish and the admins of his Facebook fan page! “Right race fans………. its been a long, action packed, edge of the seat, emotional 24 hours of Le Mans 2011. A superb Audi victory ,this is page admins signing off for the weekend…………… Now where did I put that tube of super glue Allan asked me to get him????????? (admins)” and just like you Allan we cant wait for the 2012 Le Mans, so make sure to get some rest!
To start we want to say to Allan McNish that we are so happy to see you are OK, and we’re sorry you didn’t get an opportunity to finish the race but the most important thing is that you walked away from this horrific accident. It was nine days ago we had the opportunity to ask Allan 7 Questions on the Fourtitude forums so when we heard this our hearts sank. During that discussion when asked “how do you recover that trust if someone crashes?” Allan replied, “we all have driver errors and crashes, it is called racing and being on the limit. As long as you are honest about mistakes or whatever it gains trust.” And that truly shows your character Allan. I want to end with a huge thank you to Josh Decker from Quattro World for the images he captured of this horrific crash earlier this morning – it’s not easy to keep composed during this type of thing.
This picture is of the Rob Austin Racing British Touring car in some serious 2 wheel racing action! We love motorsports and think that Rob Austin Racing does an awesome job with their Facebook page – we encourage you to check it out! Also don’t forget it’s less then 24 hours until the flag drops for the 2011 24 hours of Le Mans – Go Audi!!!
The countdown to the 79th Le Mans 24 Hours is most certainly on! The qualifying stages of the event are well under way and for the first time since 2006 Audi will be leading the pack! This is a very exciting event for Audi and we can’t wait to see how great they do! The second starting vehicle is also an Audi; following third is a Peugeot. Should be a great race – we wish we were there!!! For more on the qualifying rounds go to Paddock Talk and read on. Also make sure to watch the traffic jam video at qualifying for the 2011 Le Mans.
That’s Right! Le Mans 24 Hours live on the internet, onboard footage and telemetry data of the three Audi R18 TDI cars and extensive reports on Facebook and Twitter!!! Jeff – this one is for you!!! Because we know how much you love Audi Diesel – like the A3, and are especially fond of the demand for the Audi Q5 with a diesel power-plant, we are here to say; don’t lose hope. Though the Q5 is only available in the USA and Canada with the 3.2L V6 and the 2.0T gasoline engines, in other parts of the world they are enjoying the fruits of diesel fuel in the hugely popular Q5!!! Enjoy and we hope this makes your day:)
From the Wall Street Journal : “There are so many things to like about the Audi A7 design. It’s handsomely proportioned, with a short front overhang, steeply raked windshield and an arrogantly low roofline that lands in that warp-speed fastback. The blacked-out roof pillars exaggerate the malevolent orientalism of the DLO, the daylight opening. The big, seven-strake grille just kills, obviously. And—this is a technical but important point—the cutlines around the hood, doors, trunk, front and rear bumper clips and rear-deck spoiler all connect with a crease or synch up with some datum to accentuate the larger piece of sculpture. So, yes, this is a mighty smart piece of industrial design. But the end-days delirium around this car is all about the streamlining, which rings big, magnificent bells in the American unconscious.” For the entire article Click Here! and read on.
By now, hoards of Audi fans at the annual Wörthersee tour festival have feasted their eyes on the Audi A1 Clubsport Quatrro. And to prove that the concept was far more than a just a simple nip and tuck project, Audi and its partner Need for Speed produced a video that demonstrates the extensive work put into the A1 Clubsport.
The project, dubbed W11, starts with a basic A1 that is mercilessly hacked to give way to a carbon fiber room and wider fenders. The donor A1 then gets stuffed with the 2.5-liter inline-five TFSI engine found in the TT RS and RS3 ; the engine is tuned to put out 496 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque. Audi claims that the combination of the tiny car with the monster engine results in a 0-62 mph time of just 3.7 seconds.
A custom paint job completes the W11 project along with carbon-ceramic brakes, 19-inch wheels, roll cage, carbon-fiber bucket seats and requisite race gauges. Audi has no plans to produce the pint-sized, all-wheel drive track thrasher, but could some elements of Clubsport spill over to street version of the A1? It’s possible and we will eagerly wait and see.

Audi Wilsonville, the newest Oregon Audi store has a gorgeous black 2011 V10 Audi R8 Spyder on the showroom floor, almost a shame considering how beautiful it is outside today! The R8 Spyder is truly in a league of its own with design that could be called “perfect”, unmatched fit and finish and performance that almost seems to defy physics. If your in the Portland Metro area be sure to make your way down to see this beautiful sportscar!
So does your Audi Dealer use social Media? Let us know if you work at an Audi Dealer and you are using Social Media on a regular basis; or if you work at an Audi Dealer and your store hasn’t jumped into the arena yet. We also want to hear from those of you who don’t work at an Audi Dealer but your local store is active with Social Media , and those of you who wish your Audi store would get involved! Give us some feedback on your store, feel free to use your stores name and link to what your doing!
Yesterday Fourtitude sent out an invite for an online question session they were doing with the incredible Allan McNish . We, of course, jumped on the opportunity to have Allan answer some questions – but with not much time to consider what they would be, we stepped a bit outside the box, asking him some things that were not just car related or based on his awesomeness, which most definitely, speaks for itself. Check out our questions below, followed by his answers – yes he did answer! Also we love to see you’re using a Mac!!!
Allan asked us a question as well – and to answer that Allan, we suggest getting your hands on the Ducati 848 Dark Edition. It is an amazing bike and perfect for the summer in Monte Carlo! (Or pretty much anytime there!!) Thanks again to Fourtitude for the invite and Allan McNish for your time and answering everyone’s questions! Have a great day!

What an awesome shot of this beautiful red Audi S4 driving into the sunset. I found this picture on Flicker and the description said: “Michael Mills pilots Zerin’s 2010 Audi S4 around MSR Houston at sunset” Makes me wish I was on a road trip right now – somewhere where there was a bit of sun!! Enjoy.
To start with we love Fourtitude and Allan McNish and encourage everyone to participate in the “Fourtitude + McNish Corner” tomorrow! The Fourtitude team has provided the Audi community with a very valuable look into the Audi brand and we are fortunate to have them share this opportunity with us by having an open discussion with Le Mans sensation Allan McNish on their forums.
From Fourtitude “On Tuesday May 31 from 4-11PM UK time (11AM-6PM USA-EST), Allan McNish will log on to the Fourtitude discussion forums as ‘Allan McNish’ in order to field questions in our Audi Sport forum. Allan will be checking in throughout that time block via Audi Connect as he travels from London to Scotland in the back of a new Audi A8.” If your not a member of the Fourtitude family make sure to register an account today and visit the Fourtitude + McNish Corner to join the conversation!
The Audi Sport Facebook Page has become very popular with over 21,000 likes in less then a week of starting the page. It is safe to say that the demand for social interaction from the automotive industry is in high demand. Now with Audi Sport on Facebook and Twitter we will be able to keep up with them on an almost instantaneous basis.
Inside Line says “Audi Sport arrived late in the race compared to such competitors as Team Chevy, Ford Racing and Mazdaspeed Motorsport, all of which have created popular Facebook pages during or prior to early 2010 and have thousands of followers on Twitter. Audi Sport has lost what could have been a year’s worth of racing enthusiast buzz. In comparison, Ford Racing has 19,114 Twitter followers, while Team Chevy has 200,963 Facebook fans.” This may be true, still we would much rather support the Audi Sport page with 20,000 followers then follow Team Chevy with over 201,000 fans, but maybe that’s just us!
We love Groupon and today we saw an Audi being used to promote a interior and exterior detail – the perfect prop! “According to Newton’s fourth law, the more you drive your car, the more debris it attracts—repelling aerodynamics, the opposite gender, and gravity itself. Smooth your horseless carriage’s exterior with today’s Audi Groupon for interior- and exterior-vehicle detailing at your home from Pro-Detail .” So make sure to get your car detailed before summer!
Alright that might be a bit strong, I really don’t want to be Allan McNish I just want to watch him race in the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans! The Audi Channel just released an awesome video on the daily routine of a Le Mans racecar driver! Luckily the video stars the very animated and extremely talented Allan McNish – Allan is really a peoples champion and a huge asset to Audi, the team and especially the younger drivers! Audi’s description of this video “Audi is a dominant force at Le Mans, winning 9 times in the last 11 years and it’s an aspect of Audi that perfectly exemplifies the Audi ethos and approach to engineering and product development. In short, it’s Vorsprung durch Technik in action.” So that is that! Good luck this year Audi and if you haven’t already, make sure to visit Allan McNish on his Facebook Page and wish him luck… wait he doesn’t believe in luck so just say “don’t mess up Allan!”
I was driving a new Audi A8 this morning and decided to pair the Bluetooth so I could stream music from my iPhone through the sound system of the car . Afterwords I put the phone down (I hate having my cell phone in my pocket when I drive) and realized that the new A8 really had no perfect spot for my phone. I understand I could put my cell in the drivers door pocket, but that is were I rest my arm or like most people put my phone in the cup holder… but that is were I would like to put my beverage. The new A4 has a beautiful spot in the center console for placing a phone or iPod and I have driven a lot of cars with absolutely no were to put a phone – BMW is terrible! My question is “Where do you put your cell phone when you drive?” Let me know what cars you have had with great spots to put your phone, and were you put your cell phone when you get into your car and go for a drive!!!
For every trim combination or color combination you could ever dream up from Aviator Blue, Ash natural brown, Bamboo inlays, sport, S-Line or Titanium – you can have it for the 2012 Audi A6 . These options come from Germany, so there is no guarantee that you can get them all in the US – but some of these options are just amazing! Audi really spares no imagination in thinking of some of these configuration’s – these are truly some of the best of the best! Take a look and let us know which ones are your favorites!
It Is Monday today and as most of you know – that means it’s my Friday! Here in Portland it is particularly gloomy today so what could be more cheery than the thought of an Audi R8 GT in nature, and in Germany of course?! This serves as a little reminder of my trip there a few weeks back and how everything just gets back to normal so soon – whatever normal is, of course. Can’t wait for sun-shinny days, sitting on a patio somewhere in the city, enjoying a beverage! Of course, it would also be nice to rock this R8 GT on the Autobahn – but in the meantime, if you are in a part of the country that already has sunshine – we’d love to live vicariously through you, so send in some pictures – and throw an Audi in there if you can! Enjoy your day!
We want to give a special thanks to Audi Sport for the recent shout out on their Facebook page! We want everyone to know how much this means to us and remind you all that this kind of support is the reason we do this! Audi Sport said “Join the I Am Audi fan page and help them reach the 1.000, one of the best and finest Audi websites around” Again thank you so much for the mention and let us know if you ever need anything!
