As previously posted, the 2009 Audi A4 is the largest car in its class. Among the many benefits to the new A4, it is also the most fuel efficient compared to its competitors. This very low maintenance engine has phenomenal fuel efficiency and a great drive train to back it up.
The great fuel efficiency behind this vehicle is due to the Direct Injection Engine. Benefits are: lower emissions, better fuel economy and quicker throttle response.
The 2009 Audi A6 wil have an enhanced design to compliment its performance from the 3.2L V6, 4.2L V8 or the brand new for 2009 Supercharged 3.0L V6. Each of these engine configurations has its own personality but all share efficiency and performance. With 3rd generation MMI (Multi Media Interface) you will enjoy the ease of the A6’s controls and user interface of stereo, compact disk, iPod, Sirius satelite radio and blue tooth. No matter if you get the sedan or avant the A6 will provide saftey and a great overall driving experience.

Winning Le Mans is something Audi is no stranger to; and the 2008 24 hours of Le Mans was no different. Audi raced the diesel V12 R10 to victory yet again. The locals of the 24 hours of Le Mans take great pride in this event and know the history behind it. Lets see what Audi comes up with next to keep themselves at the top of the podium; inevitably they will push the envelope.
Audi has used the race track for the research and development of their vehicle technology for as long as the company has been around. Winning race after race, these technologies are in the Audis we see on the road today . The heritage of Audi and their race history can be seen at the Ingolstat Museum in Germany, where the race winning vehicles are on display. Recently, a client of mine brought back some pictures of his experience at the Ingolstat. These are only a few of the pictures, however he and his wife said the trip was amazing. If you ever have the opportunity to go and see the Audi Factory and Museum do not pass it up. From the pictures I have seen and stories I have been told the experience looks incredible!

This is an example of what the part number will look like. Remember not all part numbers will be the same; they will vary depending on application.
This is what the iPod interface cable will look like. Depending on how the cable is installed and on what model of Audi, this cable will either come out in the glove box or center console.
When you have the iPod next to the cable you see how the symbol on the cable clearly distinguishes it for an iPod device. (Sorry iPod not included)
When you have the two mated the music will play in the vehicle like a compact disk. The iPod will rest in the glove box and you will be able to change songs as if you were changing tracks on a compact disk play.
The new Audi Q5 spot involved over 100 actors requiring them to flip large cards in their hands in synchronicity. This live action was filmed in Berlin and will be used to release the Audi Q5 into North America. When this film was introduced to me by my friend Brian Baldwin from Twenty Forty One I was amazed at the detail. Check out the new Audi Q5 “Synchronized” Video. If you think the motion graphics are good in this video, then you will definitely love the new Q5.
Mini auto flashlight. As stated in the new Audi Accessory Magazine, “the same superior clarity of Audi LED headlights has been captured in our mini auto flashlight.” This 5″ x 1″ x1″ flashlight is made of durable aluminum and is a great resource to have tucked away in your vehicle. Adaptive Cruise Control is an optional feature on the 2009 A4, A5, S5, A8 and Q7. This feature uses radar to sense forward moving vehicles in front, to maintain a predetermined distance and speed. Adaptive Cruise Control will apply both brake and throttle as needed to keep your desired speed while maintaing a safe distance with the vehicle ahead of you. If there is no traffic in front of you the Adaptive Cruise Control will simply maintain your speed. Adaptive Cruise Control will not react to stationary objects such as animals in the road. Audi braking guard will react and a chime will be heard and the brakes will be applied (however not at full force) to alert the driver. Also, if the weather conditions are poor, such as heavy fog or snow, the Adaptive Cruise Control will be disabled. It goes with out saying that the driver of the vehicle should always have full control and only use this system as a suplementry comfort device.

On the A8 and Q7 the Radar system is not visable unless the front bumper is removed. However as pictured above on the 2009 A4 the Radar system is exposed and visable in the lower right front grill. This goes for the A5 and S5 as well.
First, when you log onto autotrader.com you will be asked if you want to search for a new vehicle or sell your own. Click the “For Sale” box to begin selling your own vehicle.
Second, after you have clicked the “for sale” box you will be asked for your ZIP code for advertising purposes.
Third, you will begin to make some choices on how extensive you want your sale. You can choose between where the ad will be seen; either online, in the Auto Trader Magazine or both as well as the duration the ad will run. These options all come with a price ranging all the way to $79 +
Fourth, you will need to get all of the specifics of your vehicle including color, milage, options and most importantly the VIN (vehicle identification number). This number can be found in your owners manual or in the drivers inner door jam.
Fifth, write a quick story of why you are selling the vehicle. This is the time to separate yourself from the rest. Give the details of the vehicle history and how well you have maintained it, as well as the overall condition.
Sixth, you will have to have at least 9 pictures of your vehicle to upload onto the Auto Trader website. These pictures should be well lit and include under the hood shots as well as interior and exterior ones. If possible try to take some pictures that show the true condition of the paint and interior.
Seventh, after you have entered all of your pictures and a summary of your vehicle, you will have an opportunity to see what your ad will look like online. Go over everything carefully to make sure everthing is perfect.
Eighth. The next picture you will see will be how the ad will appear in the Auto Trader magazine. No matter what it is important to make sure the magazine ad appears as well written as the online ad.
Ninth. All you need now is a method of payment. Auto Trader does take Paypal however, if you do not have an account with Paypal, Visa will get the job done.
Congratulations! You are done. Make sure to keep your confirmation number and watch your e-mail. As a last note remember you never know who is coming to test drive your car, so be carefull and let someone know if you are going out for a drive with a potential buyer.
Sometimes perfection takes time, and Audi understands that better then anyone. Why create a sport utility vehicle like the Q7 after everyone else has already done it? Because Audi can do it better.
Audi has never had a super car until the R8 and now that we do, they call it perfect. The R8 is a hand built super car with an aluminum spaceframe chasis and a FSI (Direct Injection) 4.2L mid engine that goes against the grain with a Quattro drive train. No one said perfection was ordinary, and Audi could not agree more.
As of 2009 the Audi A4, A5 and S5 will have a new type of fuel filler cap opening system. Audi will continue to use the button style opening in the Q7, A6, A8 and TT so there will now be two ways to open your fuel door, depending on what Audi you have. The fuel door will continue to be on the passanger side to prevent the driver from stepping in oil at the service station when refueling thier vehicle. You will just have to remember a few new steps at the pumps:
First, you will have to remember the vehicle has to be unlocked in order to open the push style fuel door.
Second, after the vehicle has been unlocked, press down on the rear portion of the fuel door and then release, the door will lift open.
Third, after opening the fuel door, unclick the gas cap and place the filler lid in its designated port on the inside of fuel door.
Fourth and finally, when putting the fuel filler cap on with the new style, you will only be able to turn the fuel cap 1/4 turn clockwise untill it is secure in the closed position.
The 2009 A4 is more spacious then all 3 of its closest competitors; the BMW 328xi, Mercedes C300 and the Lexus IS250. This roomieness is not just achieved in head, shoulder or leg room but is superior in all three.
This chart can be used to see the exact interior capacity in inches.
Here is a side by side comparison of the side and top view of the 2009 A4 Sedan. As you can see the overall length has been increased by almost four inches and the wheel base has been increased by almost 6 inches from the 2008 Audi A4.
As with the previous year, the 2008 A4 Sedan and Avant will have identicle dimensions in wheelbase and in vehicle length.
With this top view diagram of the 2009 A4 you can see where the addition two inches of width have been gained, giving you more shoulder room that ultimetly equates to safety and comfort.
Design is something Audi has always been known for with their cars, both on the interior and exteriors. However, the principle of design without compromise of functionality is something Audi believes in with all things they create, even media. This promotional video is for the Audi A5 and without using any words an emotion is captured and the idea is presented without ever even seeing the vehicle.
As they say a picture is worth a thousand words… so I will keep it simple and let the R8 speak for itself. When building the R8 you have to decide what color you want the exterior, interior and side blade, not to mention your personalized options. Well, here are a few that we have recieved and they each have their own individual personalities.

Over the last few months I have been taking courses and attending classes in California to earn my 2008 Audi Brand Specialist Certification. There are a series of tests that have to be fufilled in order to recieve the certification that take a few months. Like anything you get out what you put in and I found the Audi Certification process to not only be very rewarding, but also very educational. I leared everything from the history of the Audi Brand to the importance of client satisfaction. It was not all books and tests, I had the opportunity to drive and be passenger in some of the fastest Audies available, such as the R8, S5 and RS4, while at the Infinieon Speedway in Sonoma. I am dedicated to Audi and am excited to grow with this brand.
If you really want to separate yourself from the the rest when ordering your next Audi, look into the exclusive package. The Audi Exclusive Package is a set of very specific options on interior trim, from custom color of interior seat inserts, door panel trim inserts, and interior stitching color. Here are some pictures of a TT with the Audi Exclusive trim package in red; notice the attention to detail with the stitching.

As an option on most Audi’s the Bang & Olufsen sound system is an upgrade from the already great Bose sound system. The Bose sound system has 14 speakers and 255 watts as well as an 8 channel DSP amplifier producing a very pure sound. However, if you are looking for the ultimate listening experience while you drive, the Bang & Olufsen is the only way to go. With 14 B&O insulated speakers, 10 amplifiers and 1,000 watts, you will have not only the most rich sounding stereo system on the market, but also the most beautiful. Each of the 14 speakers is encapsulate by a aluminum cover. When the ignition is turned on in the A8, S8 or Q7 equipped with the B&O system the first thing you will see is 2 tweeters rise from the dash on the front passenger and drivers side dash. After that visual stimulation choose a song and enjoy the sound of this state of the art sound system working for you.
Depending on what Audi and what iPod Or iPhone you have will determine what cable you will use in order to connect the devise with the Audi interface. Above is a Sheet that will help with what cable you require with your Audi and your particular devise. You will have to be aware of the equipment level of the Audi and know if it has AMI with navigation or without. Failing to have the correct cable when interfaced with a iPod device and vehicle will cause your Bluetooth to be inoperative. Having the correct cable is only important if you plan on having the iPhone Bluetooth capable as well as the music interfaced.

This is what the all black iPod adapter cable will look like

When you look into the glove box of the Audi (except the Q7) you will see the iPod Dock.
In order to connect the I-Pod to the Audi you will need to open the door on the left portion of the iPod dock and pull the shelf out.
Place the iPod on the shelf and conect the cable to the vehicle and the iPod or iPhone.
After you have connected the device to the vehicle you can close the glove box and work through the AMI to choose your “Source”, it is in the top right of the screen after pushing the C/D-AUX button.
From here all you have to do is enjoy your music and enjoy your Audi.
I wrote this article to help you set up your iPod in your personal Audi. I will continue to showcase original content in order to be your top source for Portland Oregon Audi.
Its been over 10 years since Audi has had a coupe in its line up, but now it’s back. The A5 is one of Audi’s most recent addition to the family and it is really a beautiful car. My first impression of the black S-Line package A5 was its flowing lines and low stance giving it the aggresive look even when sitting still. When stepping into the S-Line package A5, I found the interior to be very contemporary and the seats to be form fitting and suportive. The open sky panoramic glass roof gave the cabin a very open feel that was complemented by the white stitching throughout. The A5 had made such a strong visual impression on me I was eager to see if function could really match this high standard of form. With the integrated I-Pod adapter in the glove box, MMI controlled Navigation and Audi Lane Assist, the answer was clear “Yes”. Audi has managed to create yet another georgous vehicle supported by a Quattro drivetrain and features that will make you ask “What will they come up with next”.
A gorgeous Portland fall day… we are truly lucky to be enjoying sunshine so close to November!
In 2002 a predisesor for the very successful Audi R8 Lemans racecar would begin to take shape in the form of an idea. This new project would be named “R10” and internal development from Audi would spare no expense to ensure victory. The Audi R10 began to truly take shape in 2003 when engine specifications were decided; a 5.5 liter V12 Turbo Diesel.

Hi! My name is Guinness and I am a 2 1/2 year old French Bulldog. I am new to Portland and wanted to introduce myself formally!
Tomorrow is the Frenchie Meetup at the Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch and I am so excited I dressed up as a Pumpkin! I wonder if any of my Frenchie friends will recognize me!
If you have a great Halloween costume send me a picture and be sure to stay tuned for my all Frenchie adventures in Portland!
Recently I was lucky enough to find myself in beautiful Sonoma, California at the new Audi Forum located at the Infineon Raceway. While there for Audi Product training, I was introduced to one of the most stunning examples of Audi engineering, the RS4. At first glance the RS4 appeared to be only a more refined version of the A4 with huge fender flares, eloquently placed RS4 badging and enormous brakes all the way around.
As I studied the RS4 in more detail it became very clear this was no ordinary four-door sedan. With its race inspired engine technology taken from the Lemans Champion R8, it produces a gripping 420 horse power to all four wheels. I knew there was only one way to see what this vehicle was made of.
After putting my helmet on, I opened the door and sat inside. Situating myself into the proper seating position, I felt the interior wrap around me. With the Recaro leather seats at my back and switchblade Audi key in my hand I was definitely ready.
I placed my foot on the aluminum clutch pedal and felt the resistance, knowing this clutch was there to hold up to some serious power. With the key in the ignition I turned my wrist and then it happened, the beautiful sound of eight cylinders dancing to the rhythmic deep tone of the dual exhaust underneath my seat. The smile on my face was ear to ear and I was off down the first stretch of the Infinion Race Track. Not knowing what to expect, I took the first swooping uphill left turn with caution. This car was taking a corner at 55 miles an hour without any body roll or tire noise and I knew at that moment the RS4 would be the one in control.
Racing into the second corner at great pace, I hit the brakes and did they ever work! This corner was considerably steeper but the RS4 offered no hesitation. With no down shifting the vehicle was almost stopped before coming into the turn from speeds of over 65 miles per hour in what felt like no distance at all. By this time I was into the fifth right hand corner, only now was I getting a true feeling for what a monster the RS4 was and why Audi had put such detail into things like the ceramic coated engine manifold, carbon fiber interior trim, aluminum hood, fenders and the trunk bonnet. The RS4 was meant to be driven.
I pushed through this very steep right hand corner with the Quattro drive train harnessing the brute power from the engine. I knew I was in good hands and felt in complete control knowing I could do this in the dry, wet or even a snow covered track (with appropriate winter tires mounted, of course). Continuing on with great confidence my speeds increased and my skill behind the wheel of the RS4 did as well. As our first dance around the beautiful course came to an end I was not fatigued at all and neither was the RS4, as a matter of fact it was just getting warmed up.
know now, after proper introduction the first time I had approached the RS4 I was in great disillusion of what power it truly possessed. To come to grips with the RS4’s true potential, time has to be spent behind the wheel and a relationship has to built with the machine.
As for me, there will be the many endless laps spent and a great bond built with the RS4 throughout the rolling hills of Infineon Raceway and beyond.
I took these photographs to capture what will be the last of a brand new B7 RS4. I will continue to showcase original content in order to be your top source for Portland Oregon Audi.
There are many benefits of ceramic brakes in the automotive industry such as lighter weight, longer lasting components and superior stopping power at operating temperature. However historically they have been very difficult to manufacture “It’s not mechanical but chemical,” said Brembo’s Vavassori. “We start from powders and end up with a lightweight disc, but an expensive one.” SGL Carbon AG, of Wiesbaden, Germany, and Audi AG are trying to lower the cost of production by getting away from single batch production and going to a continuous system. When they are successful, we will see ceramic brake technology not in just performance super cars but on regular production Audi’s, greatly improving drivability and stopping performance.
When people look at a new model vehicle, one of the first things they notice is the style of the wheel it has. So often people change the wheel in thier head before they have ever driven the vehicle, because they don’t like the style. This is not the case in the instance of the 2009 Prestige trim level Audi A4 largely due to the beautiful style of this new wheel. The wheel is a 5 spoke, 18 inch wrapped in a 245/40 R18 all season tire that really fills the wheel gap, giving the A4 quite an aggressive stance. If the Factory Audi wheel looks this nice I can’t wait to see what the after market world will have to offer!
This is an Audi promotional video that I was introduced to; it really in capsules a lot of what Audi stands for as well as a brief background into their racing history. The vintage video clips with the rally spectators standing in the course of the Spec-B cars always make me say “wow!”
With the release of the 2009 Audi A4 we have yet another pioneered piece of technology, Audi Drive Select (ADS). With this new advancement, the driver of the vehicle is able to select between comfort, dynamic and auto setting as well as individaul selections from each to best suit thier driving style.
These selections can be made while driving, through the multimedia interface of the vehicle or with just the push of a button on the dash.
Choosing between these four setting will give the vehicle dramatic changes in throttle response, transmission shift points, shock damping, and the power-steering ratio and assist. When you have discovered what setting you prefer in each mode, the Audi Drive Select settings can be tailored to each individual person who drives the vehicle, whether they are in the mood for a sporty drive or something more suited towards comfort.
My first impression of the ADS was how great it would be for family’s with 2 or more people driving the vehicle who each preferred a different drive, however after experiencing it myself my mind was changed.
I took the 2009 A4 on a 15 minute drive and in that short period I found myself in each mode, customizing each setting to my driving style depending on the road conditions.
In that short drive I realized even with one driver you could really fall in love with the Audi Drive Select. With this feature you gain the capability to have the best of all worlds. Audi has managed to fit 3 cars into one and you the driver can decide which one you want, whenever you want it.
I took these photographs in order to provide the best example of this technology. I will continue to showcase original content in order to be your top source for Portland Oregon Audi.
Not only will Audi be leading the way with L.E.D lighting thechnology, they have also introduced the 2009 A3 “Tube Lighting” in thier taillights. This style of “Tube Lighting” seperates Audi from every other manufacturer. When I saw the 2009 A3 2.0T Quattro on the showroom floor I had to share my excitment. So the next time you see this triangle shape “Tube Lighting” on the road ahead of you, you will know it is the new A3.
Monday September 22nd we set out to Seattle for the Regional Semi Finals for the Audi Certified Pre- owned walk around competition. It was a beautiful morning for the 3 hour drive ahead of us from Portland and Sunset Imports had provided the perfect car for the journey.
The sport package equipped Audi A4 Avant was sure footed at highway speeds and felt very connected to the road as we made our way into the heart of Seattle.
After arriving downtown we took some time at pikes street market for a nice walk to stretch our legs and take in some of the sites…
We then enjoyed a cup of coffee at the original Starbucks as I began my mental preparation for the Audi Certified Pre-owned Competition.
As the day came to a close we enjoyed a wonderful meal at our favorite Italian restuarant, Mitchellis. Always delicous food and great service, we find ourselves here for dinner everytime we come to Seattle.
Enjoying the last few minutes of daylight at the Pier…
The C.P.O. Semi Finals Walk Around consisted of 3 contestants, each contestant representing the Pre-owned vehicle to a potential client with 3 judges looking on.
The setting was very professional and each of us was very well versed in the Audi brand with a true passion for our product.
I was third to present the vehicle and with butterfly’s in my stomach I began, “Welcome to Sunset Audi”. Before I knew it 15 minutes had passed and I was concluding the demonstration with a hand shake. Though I would not be continuing onto the Las Vegas finals , I left with confidence and knew our certified warranty process was second to none. It was truley an honor to be a part of this exceptional training experience.
Audi Certified Website & 300+ Point Inspection Checklist
Certified Warranty is in a class all it’s own with regards to requirements as well as attention to detail when preparing the vehicle for its new owner. The Audi must meet certain criteria to even apply; such as a clear Carfax report, up to date service history and less then 60,000 miles on the odometer. In addition, the car must be less than five years old.
After the vehicle has been cleared of these requirements, it then undergoes over 300 points of hands on mechanical inspection; the most of any automotive manufacturer. After the 300+ point inspection has been completed by an Audi Certified Technician, all necessary repairs and/or reconditioning needs will be fulfilled. Such requirements are: tires in “like new” condition (including spare) as well as brakes having a minimum of 7mm remaining (50%) on front and rear and the windshield being free of cracks.
When purchasing your new Audi Certified vehicle (C.P.O.) the goal is for the experience to be as close to a new car vehicle purchase as possible, including the availability of very competitive financing programs.
After you have purchased your Certified Audi the after sales experience and support is second to none, with complimentary 24/7 roadside assistance, destination assistance, trip interruption & personalized trip routing benefits. As well, for your service needs, Audi Care maintenance coverage is available in addition to the balance of new car warranty, complete with no charge maintenance (if remaining).
With all of this you will be worry free with up to 6 years or 100,000 miles of driving in your beautiful Certified Audi. All of this additional coverage with the Audi backed warranty is only available at an authorized Audi dealer, so come see me (Scott Mitchell) today at Audi Wilsonville.
