From Team Speed Forum “We just finished work on a 2011 Audi R8 V10 that received the Stasis Challenge Extreme kit. The kit consists of the supercharger, exhaust, sport springs, rear sway bar, and 20″ wheels. We also had the car wrapped in matte black vinyl by Skinzwraps from Dallas, TX.” pretty awesome Audi build, two thumbs up for the final product.
Earlier today Motor Authority reported: Audi is making it easier for smartphone users and owners of other portable devices with wireless capability by launching a whole new range of mobile experiences, particularly for those in the U.S. The strategy began with the recent re-launch of the automaker’s U.S. based mobile website, m.audiusa.com. which now includes downloadable product apps, interactive banner ads, and dealer locators. With this new functionality, existing Audi owners also can use the site to make lease payments or schedule maintenance visits. One example of the new features is an interactive iPad application for the A6, A7, and A8 models, which users can download now from the Apple iTunes Store. For more information on Audi’s latest mobile features, head to m.audiusa.com or download the new Audi apps.
Audi Australia’s newest ambassador, Hugh Jackman, arrives in Audi R8 at the premiere of his latest movie ‘Real Steel’. We haven’t seen “Real Steal” yet but we think it should be pretty good, especially in the IMAX theater. Audi Australia should be pretty excited about Hugh Jackman backing the product because from the sounds of it he really believes in the Audi brand and that goes a long way. On a side note, who are the Audi Brand ambassadors for the United States & Canada?
The source of this video, Justin Supercars records a unique looking Audi R8 in Dubai. This Audi R8 comes in a special “Flip Flop” wrap witch changes its color from pink/purple to green, depending on the angle you look at the car. I think this is a pretty cool idea for such an exotic car, and i have never seen something similar on an Audi R8.But hey…that’s Dubai! The video shows different angles of the car,and the car driving away.
No question that I Am Audi is into social media, Facebook, Twitter and of course this site – but we never forgot what got us here and why we love doing this. We have a thing for the Audi Family and the entire Volkswagen Group, but fast cars, nice wheels, hot girls and trying to get that “little” bit lower is what we always come back to.
The culture of the web has shifted dramatically towards Facebook so the idea of a great website with strong content has been lost. Remember the days of searching for what you wanted to find and visiting your favorite sites? The great news is those days are not completely gone. If you’re looking for two awesome sites make sure to visit: Rotiforms who just happen to make the sickest wheels in the industry and also Wheel Wh***’s who are all about the stance and wheel life style we all love. Below is the picture that made us think about all of this – the culture car lives on.
Let us start off by saying Audi we love you and we love the Audi Allroad! “Audi is reportedly looking to return to the toughened-up, all-wheel drive-wagon niche by bringing its A4 Allroad model to the U.S. in the near future.” reports Left Lane News .
Left lane news also says: “Company execs told Car and Driver that the Allroad nameplate, last seen on a slow-selling variant of the A6 Avant (Audi-speak for wagon) in 2005, will soon make its return to America. Because an A6 Avant is no longer offered in the states, it appears that the A4 Avant will be the model to receive the Allroad treatment. The American A4 Allroad will likely be quite similar to its European counterpart, with flared and gray-colored bumpers, skid plate-like detailing on the front and rear fascias and extra ground clearance differentiating it from the normal Avant model.”
We wish we could say we’re blown away by the release of the new RS5 cabriolet renderings, however in typical fashion its the same old same old – the coupe version without a top. As reported by Motor Ward : “The cabriolet version of the new Audi RS5 revealed early as the official drawings submitted to the patent office leak out. Just like the previous RS5 Cabrio, the new model which will be launched next year as a 2013 model, is a four-seater drop-top featuring a canvas roof. Audi could have gone for a folding metal job, but that would have made the car heavier and could also affect interior space. Plus, soft tops always looked good on Audi’s, so why change it!”
“Engine-wise, there will be no change over the coupe and it gets the same 4.2 liter V8 engine that makes 450 hp and 430 Nm of torque. With a sub 5-second 0 to 100 km/h sprint time and a limited top speed of 250 km/h, the RS5 cabrio will be one of the fastest in its class. Regardless of the performance and quality, the RS5, and indeed other sporty, drop-top Audi models, have always been amongst the classiest and coolest cars to be seen in.” Audi knows what works and they stick with it, we love that! We also love that Audi continues to release quatto cabrio’s a product no one else can compete with… except maybe jeep.
Audi just announced the “Drivers Pledge” initiative to help make the road a safer place and although I admire the direction, sadly I won’t be participating. Scott Keogh , chief marketing officer of Audi of America said “Drivers daily face an unintelligent road. Frustrations, distractions and deterrents bombard drivers as they go from place to place. Audi recognizes these conditions and is on a mission to find solutions that not only assist our drivers, but also help improve daily driving conditions across the nation. Now, starting today, Audi challenges drivers to join the movement and take the “ Drivers Pledge ” for a more intelligent road.”
I love Scott for everything he does for Audi but what I love more is the freedom of driving on my own terms – fast of course, passing the Prius in the left lane and speeding up at yellow lights if I feel like it. The Police always tell me “Driving is a privilege, not a right” and until they take that privilege away from me (again) I will drive how I want to – I pledge to enjoy my drive every day.
If you had the access to 11 of the worlds nicest performance cars what would you do… race them of course! Well Motor Trend Magazine had this opportunity and did just that: “With an empty airstrip and eleven of the best driver’s cars in the world, we put on the world’s greatest drag race.” This video makes us #WantAnR8 even more but with that said we would love to own any of these cars. Take a guess – who do you think will win?? Let us know if the outcome surprises you.
If the Devil drove an Audi, this would be it, the Underground Racing Twin Turbo V10 R8! This has to be one of the most sinister looking Audi’s to ever come out of a tuner shop and without question it can back that look up with mind boggling performance. Watch the video of this Twin Turbo Audi R8 and listen to it scream, we promise you’ll be impressed by its acceleration and the digital speedometer climbing in increments of 8-10 MPH even past 120 MPH. We cant see what you come out with next Underground Racing, keep up the great work! #WantAnR8
Carmakers go all out for auto shows, and this has never been more evident than this year at the Frankfurt motor show, with Audi creating a multimillion-dollar stand-alone building with a quarter-mile racetrack inside. Audi trained a time-lapse camera on the construction site and released this two-minute video of the 52-day build. The resulting edifice is “friggin’ awesome,” in the words of one Autoweek editor, with cutouts in the walls where guests can see the cars whipping around the track.
We sent a girls I Am Audi T-Shirt out last week to a fan of I Am Audi on Facebook and they posted a picture wearing the shirt on our wall. So we are having ladies v-neck fitted shirts printed and they’ll be available to pre order soon! We love to get pictures of fans in our gear so if you have it, sport it and share your pictures with us!!! We will be taking pre orders for a limited run of Fall apparel later in the week that will be available early October.
We get pictures every week of people and their Audi’s, pictures of road-trip’s, weekend drives, a night out on the town or just an Audi pared in the driveway. We know Audi is a strong brand and we understand why… “Audi brings you together” and has been doing so since it was founded in 1909. People use their Audi’s for many of the same thing they did over 100 years ago, motorsports, getaways and to get them where they need to go – however we spend more time in our Audi’s then ever before. from now on we would love for you to share your pictures with us on twitter # AudiMe for everyone to see. We would love to see pictures of your Audi, no matter the make or model, parked, driving, with you in the picture or not. Simply #AudiMe and add the picture with a quick note, we can’t wait!
So we’re at it again, we found a new new Audi accessory but to be completely honest an I Am Audi Twitter follower actually pointed us in the direction. One of the #1 most requested options and Audi Accessories is an iPod adapter, so it is no wonder that the Audi iPod Cable is as requested as it is, especially when it offers new capabilities. The new Red Audi iPod Cable offers many new functions as stated by Audi – “Adapter wire “plus” with Apple license chip for iPod/iPhone. Thanks to the Apple license chip, the iPod/iPhone adapter wire “plus” offers the following additional functions.”
-CoverArt (display of covers stored on iPod/iPhone)
– Browsing within iPod/iPhone video content
– Playback of videos, films, video podcasts, music videos
“Availability of the above functions depends on the vehicle and iPod/iPhone. For additional information on these functions as well as Audi-approved types and software statuses, visit: www.audi.de/mp3” Suprisingly the New iPod Plus cable does not make mention of any Bluetooth Streaming capabilities, that is a bit of a shame. Disclaimer: We’ve attempted to establish connectivity with this cable on both a 3G MMI Plus navigation system as well as a 2012 A6 with no luck, so it appears an update may be needed or this cable is not compatible for US spec cars.
We don’t follow Audi USA on Twitter but we know more the 60.000 people do and we wonder why Audi hasn’t put the twitter icon on the front page of Audiusa.com ? With Facebook being the big focus we think its great Audi USA has the Facebook icon towards the lower right of the landing page, to be honest we love that it is not a huge icon in the top right corner like most sites. We love social, we love Facebook but we absolutely love Twitter and the level of open dialogue it allows between a brand and the public so we think Audi should help open that dialogue and invite more people to the conversation by having the Twitter icon on the front page of Audiusa.com right beside the lonely Facebook icon – who knows we just might to start to follow.
We got a call from Custom Rides letting us in on a project car that they had been working on – luckily they posted pictures on their Facebook page of the supercharged RS4 – what a beast! We are enthusiasts and that means we remember our favorite things from Audi of the past and we loved Audi Pearl White; it is seriously one of our favorite colors. If you want to see some amazing project cars for yourself, check out Custom Rides, located in beautiful Quebec, Canada.
To start with we want to thank GT Spirit for sharing this video on their Facebook page, we know its not an Audi but we love it just the same. We have a tremendouse amount of respect for the crew at ADV.1 Wheels , they have a beautiful product and a great marketing direction. Watch the video and let us know what you think, also a big thanks to Active and Cartel… we aren’t familiar with either of these groups so if you have any insight we would love for you to fill us in.
It’s about to get really hot!! I Am Audi is headed to Vegas on Sunday and luckily we are in for some high temperatures! We love the heat and we are looking very forward to lounging in the sun at the Palazzo Las Vegas – among other things of course! Does anyone have any good Vegas suggestions for us?? We are always looking for fun things to do – and no, they don’t have to be Audi related!
We love our Audi’s!! You know the feeling – its like your pet; a part of the family. Audi gets us were we need to go, lets us escape the day to day bustle, and is that building block in creating the lifestyle we want to live. When was the last time you shared a story on Facebook about your Audi? Tweeted about your last drive? Or took a picture with your Audi and shared it on Instagram? Love your Audi; and share your Audi with the world!
A good friend of I Am Audi on Facebook took his talents and put them to good use by designing the “I Am Audi Sport” B5 Audi RS4. We have to say that it is very exciting to see people embrace I Am Audi – we want to say thank you to all our supporting fans. A big thanks to Tarek for designing and sharing this picture with us; we love it!
“Designer creates personal vehicle made to fit in the trunk of Audi automobiles…” Designed by Angel Sanchez Vargas, the A0 Monocycle is a project sponsored from Audi’s very own design and research center in Munich. Taking design ques from Audi’s automobiles, the A0 is a compact and lightweight all-electric personal transportation vehicle that is designed to fold and fit into the trunk of any Audi automobile. Although the A0 isn’t exactly the most innovative personal vehicle out there, the design has a lot of potential when combined with Audi’s automobiles. The idea is to give drivers maximum mobility and convenience in their urban environments. Accented day lighting adds a stylistic flare to the vehicle while automatic headlights and brake lights ensure safety during the night.
Audi has a legion of dedicated fans. In fact, a recent Visibli study found that the auto brand has more engaged social media followers than even Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. That must mean these fans have quite a few stories to share about how the German luxury automaker gained their loyalty. Audi wants to share these stories with the rest of the world and to do so the company launched the “Remarkable Audi Film ” series. Each installment in the series focuses on real people who discuss what Audi means to them. There are no rehearsed scripts – Audi just turns on the camera and lets the story unfold.
In the first installment in the series, Audi talks with award-winning and Grammy-nominated recording artist Ryan Farish, who uses Audi to perfect his music. After burning his tracks on a CD, he listens to how they sound in his Audi TT. In the video below, you can see what happens when he takes the new Audi A8, outfitted with a 19-speaker, 1,400-watt Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System, out for a test drive. You can watch the video after the jump. If you’ve got a story to tell, send it to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may be featured in the next installment of the Remarkable Audi Film series.

Some people look at The World According to Pink however many actually go far beyond that and use pink as a statement. We love pink as much as the next person – we even love to Eat Pink , but this might be a little much. Though eye catching, this Audi A4 may have taken pink one step too far – then again, we do love all things Audi.
For anyone who has ever doubted that Social Media was going to stick around – next week’s ‘Social Summit’ is sure to convince otherwise. It’s safe to say that Social is here to stay and if you want anything to do with it, you had better pay attention! Audi has always been at the forefront of most all of it’s endeavors – I would venture to say that the company likely wouldn’t bother unless they had a solid notion that it would bring success – and the same has held true for its stance on Social impact in the marketplace. Hence, Audi will be part of the sponsorship group at the upcoming Gravity Summit, Social Media Marketing for Business Conference next week and will be joining other very well established companies in the ongoing campaign to learn and adapt to the ever changing face of everything that is Social Media.
I am very excited Audi will be taking part in this. It really is validation for the work I do on a daily basis and proof that even in an industry so reluctant to change, this company isn’t afraid to go after what it wants. Social presence is not just the way of the future, it is the way of right now – and if you aren’t already on board, it may very well be impossible to catch up.
Check out this link for more information on the conference and a list of companies attending, as well as the Gravity Summit website for additional details.
The Audi community is quite small and those in it are very close. Below are a handful of sites that make known nearly everything there is to know about Audi. Each site has their own flavour and temperament – from journalist views, great videos and pictures, Le mans coverage and even personal opinions on Audi topics, we all provide insight into the brand that we love.
Being a small group it is easy for us to communicate on a one on one basis however, but with nearly 4 million Facebook ‘likes’ and enormous social following, Audi is an online giant and it is hard to know if they associate with our enthusiast family. I am wondering… Is Audi listening???
We’d like to thank the following websites for their continued support: Fourtitude , AudiWorld , Audizine , Quattroholic , QuattroWorld – and good luck to HIAudi with the fast approaching launch to your website. In the name of support, we would also like to thank the many other websites out there for their dedication to the brand as well and providing insight and information into the world of Audi. Keep up the great work!!
Thank you Caleb Booth for sending us this picture of the Audi Cycling Team yesterday. From What we understand Caleb was on a video assignment capturing footage of cyclists in action – check out his work at i live for video . If you ever capture an Audi Lifestyle Event or an Audi in action send the picture/videp our way and we will make sure to throw it up on I Am Audi !
Let us start by saying the Audi TT RS is one of the most inspiring Audi’s we have ever driven, we simply love it. Now let us tell you why; the linear acceleration from a stop with that surge of boost at the mid range RPM’s, it’s nimble characteristics, the exhaust note and of course we love the style. We have had the opportunity to experience the TT RS in stop and go situations and it is extremely easy to drive, the clutch feel is seem-less and shifting is smooth. We just wanted this to be an introduction to our impressions of the TT RS; because it only had 45 miles on the odometer we wanted to make sure and drive the car easy during the break in period. We’re confident we will get an extended drive and we will make sure to do a full article with another album of pictures. We’d like to again take this opportunity to thank Audi Wilsonville and the Tonkin family of dealerships in Portland Oregon for this opportunity.
I’ve been with Audi nearly 10 years and when I first sat in the 2012 Audi A7 for our extended drive to the Oregon Coast, a smile came across my face that I just couldn’t hold back. As I adjusted my seat in the A7 I thought back to 2004 when I first drove the B6 A4 and how the heated seats and Xenon headlights were a big deal. Getting situated for the 200 plus miles we would be traveling, I turned on every option in the fully loaded A7 – cooled seats, Adaptive Cruise Control , lane change assist, brake guard, Night Vision , 1,300 watt Bang & Olufsen, full LED headlights and the list goes on and on. Within 10 minutes of driving it was sensory overload – I have said in the past, “abundance isn’t enough” but in the case of a loaded A7, it was more than enough. I shut down all of the innovation package assistance programs and drove the A7 to experience the drive on its own – and all I can say is WOW! Deciding what setting of ADS (Audi Drive Select) to drive with was tough – Comfort, Automatic or Dynamic? Dynamic was the obvious choice but because this A7 was equipped with the sport package I set it to auto to give this Audi a chance to show me how it behaves.
Slowly I started to turn the many options back on starting with the Bluetooth Streaming Audio – I streamed Pandora Radio and it was awesome! Next I input the adaptive cruise control with brake guard and let me tell you first hand what an incredible system this is; both making the drive easier but also adding a level of proactive safety to the trip. I love the drive of the A7 – it is light weight, quick and very fuel efficient – seriously Audi, I don’t know how you managed to create a car that is sporty yet comfortable and ohhh so sexy!!
In addition to the car being fantastic – a trip to the coast is always a great time. This weekend happened to be extremely busy out there with sand castle competitions on Siletz Bay and of course, our reason for heading out there in the first place, Radio Disney at Salishan Resort. If you haven’t been to Salishan on the Oregon Coast you really should go! It is a great spot and just a few minutes outside Lincoln City making it a peaceful retreat with impeccable service and stunning views of the ocean, not to mention an incredible golf course! We had the A7 out there for the Radio Disney event which was a huge success and the weather couldn’t have been better. Anyone who has been out to the Coast knows how unpredictable the weather can be and I have to say this was probably one of the nicest weekends I’ve had out there!
After a great weekend, the drive home was fantastic! I finally became acclimated with all the features of this incredible vehicle and think this is a serious contender for the A8 and A6. We would like to thank Audi Wilsonville for letting us review the A7, Salishan Resort for being such a beautiful destination and always taking great care of us as well as the Tonkin “The Love of Cars”.
The Torque Report just published this article on the ABT tuned Audi Q3 – looks to us like they did an awesome job! The German tuning company ABT Sportsline has unveiled its latest tuning kit for the Audi Q3 crossover. The kit includes a new front grille, bumper with large air inlets, rocker panels, a rear apron that features quad tail pipes and a rear spoiler. ABT also provides power upgrades to the Q3’s engine lineup. The 2.0L TSI engine gets a bump in horsepower from 211-hp to 250-hp, while the 170-hp version gets a power upgrade to 210-hp. The 140 horsepower 2.0L TDI engine gets 170 horsepower and the 177 horsepower 2.0L TDI puts out 195 horsepower. ABT also adds a new lowered suspension and there are various wheel options ranging from 18 to 20-inches. There’s still no official word if the U.S. will ever get the Audi Q3.
A great article and video were just released by engadget.com on the Audi A0 concept, enjoy the read! Segways can be tiring, what with all that required standing, but now even the laziest among us can enjoy the self-propelled fun with a sitdown solution. The Audi A0 concept, developed as a joint collaboration between Technische Universität München and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, combines an electric motor with a single, hollow wheel for a self-stabilizing, tilt-controlled stroll. Cruising along at a maximum speed of up to 15 km/h (that’s 9 mph to you Yanks), this leisure-minded monocycle isn’t meant for rush hour commuting, but can be folded up to fit in your car’s trunk for a casual ride around the great outdoors. Don’t expect to get too far on that sightseeing trek though, as the cycle’s battery only lasts for up to an hour. Curious to see this one-wheeler in motion? Then skip past the break for a full video demo.
We always like to see local Portland Audi owners spice up their cars and we think this is a nice example of that. The silver 4.2L V8 R8 coupe is an icon, even Tony Stark in Iron Man drove one! With the release of the R8 Spyder, the 5.2L V10 R8 and most recently the R8 GT it doesn’t surprise us people are accessorizing their V8 R8’s. We like the direction this R8 owner went with the carbon accents that match the weave of the carbon fiber side-blade – nice attention to detail. If we get any addition information on these Carbon Fiber pieces we will let you know!
So Audi is way ahead of the pack when it comes to technology, not just innovations but quality of execution. Take Audi night vision for example, other auto manufactures have tried but non have acquired their technology from the military like Audi and had this kind quality. Today we were driving the new 2012 Audi A6 with the Technology Package and night vision assist and take a look at what we saw, a pair of Audi R8’s! Without question we love to seeing R8’s, but what really impressed us was the quality of the image in the DIS (Driver Information Display). We laughed as we thought of the countless things you could capture without anyone knowing as you sat back in your night-vision equipped Audi… and yes we would love to see the pictures!
Audi is once again opening up new horizons: the Audi urban concept is a 1+1-seat, ultra-light car for congested urban spaces. The technical study does not fit under any of the conventional categories – the Audi urban concept combines elements of a racing car, a fun car and an urban car into one radical new concept. The Audi urban concept is not based on any previous model – its development is solely oriented on the strict principles of lightweight construction, efficiency and reduction. The result is a concept car with no unnecessary weight, and one that concentrates on the pure essence of sporty motion. For more pictures make sure to visit the source: Fourtitude .com
It had been a few months since our last trip to Ingolstadt to visit Audi AG Headquarters and see the Audi Museum full of amazing Audi history. When we go to Europe we always make sure to see the cities, take in the culture and enjoy the food; but the draw for Audi always pulls us in. Here are some shots from the Mobile Museum in Ingolstadt Germany, we are excited to go back… now we just need an excuse! Let us know what your favorite car is from the picture, some new Lamborghini pieces have been added to the display.
Enthusiasts always seem to think what they want in a sports car is a mildly detuned race car. They want to be just like the guys on TV: banging around, scraping the pavement, arms thrashing with every bump. These are guys who have never actually spent time in a race car getting beat up, cooked, and otherwise abused while driving. Truth is, real competition cars are built with driver comfort near the bottom of the priority list. What everyday drivers really want is a car with all the flash and raw sensation of pounding around Circuit de la Sarthe, but with all the comfort they have come to expect in their family transport. Audi has gotten a pretty good handle on this desire and has built an R8 to scratch that itch. We head out to the test track in Audi’s race track ready Audi R8 GT to see if it has what it takes to battle the world’s top supercars. While on Twitter this morning we saw one of I Am Audi’s favorite followers, AudiDriven post a picture of a Ferrari California, 458 and Audi R8 V10. We thought this was a great picture, we love car pictures shot in nature, cars in their natural habitat with no Photoshop or renderings. We can only imagine they serve really good breakfast here and that the owners all meet up on Sundays to enjoy the morning with great food and fast cars. #WantAnR8
