From our window we can see the traffic pass by below us on the Ross Island Bridge. It is an endless stream of cars day and night. We have always loved the bridges in our beautiful city and the way they unintrusively connect each side of the city of Portland. The Ross Island Bridge was designed by Gustav Lindenthal, a world famous bridge designer, and finished construction in 1926. To this day it still demands nothing and stands strong. From the ground you can see the bridge span from Arthur Street on the West to Powell Boulevard on the East. Though the veiw of the Ross island Bridge from the ground is beautiful the real view is from the walkway along the bridge itself.
